Active management

Argent employs an active asset management strategy. By selecting managers who seek to make a positive contribution towards asset growth, rather than simply tracking an index, Argent believes its clients can expect to achieve returns which consistently out-perform the weighted average returns of the relevant indices comprising all of the markets.

The “active” part of the strategy is triggered by our ability to monitor fund performance on a continuous basis. Funds which fail to reach their goals are switched if, in Argent’s opinion, there is no reasonable likelihood of performance improving in the future. The formulation of our opinion may require and frequently does involve meeting with the relevant managers of the funds.

Both Argent's Discretionary and Advisory Services facilitate the cost effective switching of funds between investment houses and individual managers.
